2/28/2023 0 Comments Sunrider academy routesAfter the introductory common route, that makes you familiar with both the characters and the game mechanics, you can choose to enter the romance arc with any girl with whom you have high enough affection level (the arcs are, of course, mutually exclusive). The heroine routes take some of the defining themes of the girls’ original stories (like time travel for Sola or forced marriage for Asaga) and give them a spin that makes them compatible with the new setting. From the technical standpoint, the game is definitely a dating sim before anything else, as the dialogue choices are pretty much just an extra factor influencing the affection meters, while everything else is determined by the stats and the schedule you set up for yourself every day. Apart from managing three club's morale, readiness and member count, you have to work on your personal stats, earn money and fight for the affection of the girls through events and random encounters (during which you choose from a list of topics, that might or might not be appreciated by the heroine). All this is achieved through pretty involved and extensive resource management gameplay. During the school year, his tasks are to save the clubs from being closed, lead them into progressively harder competitions while keeping up with his own studies and (hopefully) finding a girlfriend. The plot itself involves Kayto being ordered by Ava to act as a manager for the three "trouble” student clubs (swimming, science and kendo), each led by one of the heroines. While you could expect some of these appearances to be just excuses to reuse visual assets (that is admittedly done a lot with sprites and backgrounds), it's not really the case – Fontana for example only shows up in two unique CGs and many other references to mainline Sunrider games are fairly clever and elaborate, definitely not done in a lazy way you could expect from this kind of spin-off. The game, however, places three more Sunrider heroines, Asaga, Chigara and Sola, as fellow students within the Academy, while other characters from the main games, like Admiral G ray or Veniczar Fontana, make cameos in setting-appropriate roles. Many elements of the setting match the already established lore – Kayto's close relationship with his younger sister Maray, his role as student council vice-president and the presence of Ava as both his childhood friend the overly strict council president are all known from the flashbacks in Mark of Arcadius. The alternate storyline follows our usual protagonist, Kayto Shields, as a second-year high school student in the prestigious Sunrider Academy.

2/28/2023 0 Comments Earth rulers in 1968 filmA father and his young daughter cycle together across the Dutch flats, before he abruptly bids her farewell by the sea and rows off into the distance, never to return. Michael Dudok de Wit’s Oscar-winning short uses a monochrome palette and eight dialogue-free minutes to tell a story that could fill a feature film. Other than via fine renditions of 1930s ballads, the characters don’t speak nonetheless, the shots of empty chairs and midnight trains speak volumes. It’s also a meditation on the irony of the modern city, where everybody is connected yet nobody talks to one another-hardly typical subject matter for an animated short. Yet there’s more to the film than nifty visual effects. Canadian duo Amanda Forbis and Wendy Tilby go for the textured-newsreel look by drawing directly onto photocopies this renders a soft, grainy style quite unlike any other. “When the Day Breaks” is an illustration of the wonders that can result when innovative techniques are used to create a retro aesthetic. Somehow, the fact that everyone is an animal makes it a whole lot more poignant (we’re reminded of Spike Jonze’s video for Daft Punk’s “Da Funk”). It’s a puzzling, hauntingly beautiful work, sadly still awaiting a follow-up (Norstein, now in his seventies and a notorious perfectionist, has been at work on an adaptation of Gogol’s “The Overcoat” since 1981).Īn accidental death provokes a quiet existential crisis among the citizens of a nameless metropolis in this beautiful exploration of urban alienation. Yet its universal themes ensure that it strikes a deep chord with anyone who watches it: This is a film that has topped countless polls, and it inspired British animation expert Clare Kitson to learn Russian so that she could write a book about it. On first viewing, “Tale of Tales” does nothing to dispel that-Norstein’s film, concerned above all with the structure of memory, is narratively incoherent and soaked in symbolism. We witness the outbreak of war and the abuses of Norstein’s alcoholic father, while other chapters defy straightforward interpretation.Īs a bang-on Simpsons sequence once illustrated, there’s an enduring stereotype of Soviet animation as abstract and infuriatingly obtuse. Returning to his favorite theme of how we experience our own memories, especially those of childhood, Russian filmmaker Yuri Norstein ties together events from his past into an impressionistic autobiographical collage. What distinguishes “Storytime” is its cheerily irreverent approach to every aspect of the craft: a visual style built from moving cutouts sketches tied together by only the loosest stream-of-consciousness threads self-referential intertitles that rudely interrupt the narrative… In short, Pythonesque humor before the Pythons. Ignore the title: What’s going on here storywise is almost beside the point (if we tell you that the film culminates with the Three Wise Men being chased through a series of Christmas cards, you’ll get the idea). for the U.K., of which “Storytime,” his debut, is the best. But few are aware of the handful of shorts that he made before leaving the U.S. Those who’ve seen his contributions to Monty Python’s Flying Circus won’t need to be convinced of his genius as an animator. Those who know Terry Gilliam via his live-action features will have detected a strong current of cartoonish mischief running through his films. It’s also proof that Uncle Walt was more than just the suave businessman from Saving Mr. But it’s nonetheless a groundbreaking work, which set the tone for everything from “Tom and Jerry” to “The Itchy & Scratchy Show” (who repaid the debt of influence with a hilarious parody). Today “Steamboat Willie” appears insensitive in its depiction of animal abuse (animals are used as musical instruments). And so the seeds for Disney’s hummable song-and-dance numbers were sown. For want of dialogue or an engaging plot, music-whistling, drumming, mooing and a whole lot of toe-tapping-is what drives “Steamboat Willie” forward (hardly surprising, given that it was the first cartoon to use fully synchronized sound). Before he acquired vocal cords and became the greatest cultural icon on earth, Mickey Mouse was a humble sailor who inhabited a world where everyone was unflaggingly chirpy and everything was a potential musical instrument. 2/28/2023 0 Comments I emoyee iclockIt monitors the keyboard and mouse activity while it’s tracking time. How to find your IMEI code depends on a number of factors such as your phone make, the model as well as the company behind your device. It plays an imperative role since it can be used to unlock locked mobile devices, track lost devices, and at the same time, lock a stolen mobile device remotely. This IMEI number is present in each and every phone regardless of the make or model. The International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) code/number is a highly unique identifying 15-digit number that distinguishes one mobile device from the other. 2/28/2023 0 Comments Att modem vs routerInstead of routing traffic between multiple devices, a hub merely takes an incoming signal and copies it to all devices on the hub. In addition, don't confuse a switch with a hub, which looks almost identical but acts very differently. A switch can't assign IP addresses or create a network like your router can-it merely acts as a traffic cop for the signals coming through. Note that you need a router in order to use a switch. You just plug your extra devices into the switch, plug the switch into your router, and they'll appear on your network. If you run out of Ethernet ports on your router, a switch can add more Ethernet ports to your network. These can act as wireless access points if you already have a router, or they can take on the job of a router as well-though usually with fewer advanced features.Īll routers come with built-in Ethernet ports, but depending on the size and class of router you buy, there may not be enough to plug in all your devices-especially in the age of smart home tech, which often require numerous, hard-wired base stations. More recently, mesh network kits have become common for larger homes with lots of dead spots, since they allow multiple units to blanket your house in Wi-Fi more effectively than range extenders. Most home users have routers with wireless access points built in, but standalone access points are still common for businesses, since you can pair multiple access points together to extend your network over a large area. To do that, you need something to broadcast that wireless signal.Ī wireless access point connects to your router, usually over Ethernet, and communicates with your Ethernet-less devices over wireless frequencies. Today, though, we have the ability to connect all those devices to your home network (and thus, the internet) over Wi-Fi. Once upon a time, all computers connected to the internet through a jumble of wires. In most home cases, your WAN is, for all intents and purposes, the internet.Īn Access Point Adds Wireless Connectivity The network created by your router is known as a local area network, or LAN, and it connects you to a larger wide area network, or WAN. (That way, your phone doesn't receive the cat videos you asked for on your laptop.) Your modem receives information from the internet, sends it to the router, and the router sends it to the computer that asked for it. If your modem's IP address is like the street address of a building, your router's internal IP addresses are like apartment numbers. A router connects to all your home's devices (and links them to each other)-through Ethernet cables or Wi-Fi-and then connects to the modem.Ī router also gives each device its own internal IP address, which it uses to route traffic between them. They usually only have one Ethernet port, and only produce one IP address, which identifies your location to the internet. Standalone modems aren't able to send data to multiple devices simultaneously. You can use any router or mesh system beyond it that you want.

Generally, this climb is done in 10 pitches. The secure feeling of having clipped the bolt, and the easier terrain for the remaining fun face climbing should be a memorable experience. P7: From the 2BA, step up and master the slab moves to a bolt. You can also finish to the right in a left facing dihedral (just left of the Odyssey) for those pitches as well. This variation is not the original line, but one that was put up by Andy ? (6'9") and is remarkably better than taking the left ramp out from the large pine tree to the left of this variation. This will lead to a gentle right angling course towards a 2BA and great views of not only the Rainbows, but also of The Odyssey (the very exposed arete climb to the right. P6: Deceivingly good rock abounds and you can make up your own way (5.6-5.7) on this pitch to gain the open book 30 feet up from the belay. This takes you to easier blocky terrain (no pro needed) for another 30-35m to a belay stance below a darkened patina face that is reminiscent of basalt. P5: If taking the left variation of P4, climb a short face section that pros well and climbs even better to avoid the gully farther left. You can meander up through the trees for 45-55m to the left - or - 5.8 take the black layback section to the right with less brush 5.8. P4: 5.6 This is somewhat of a open-to-interpretation pitch. There are several ways to climb this pitch, all of which are "legal." Have fun and don't fall. P3: Crux 5.9R Re-rack the big pro and continue up one of the best OW cracks in the Sandias. Unless you plan to run it out with an 80m rope, stop to set a belay here. Large gear (purple big bro and #4 Camalot) takes you to a partial hanging belay stance before the OW goes near vertical. P2: 5.8 Another technical start with a high-stepping layback that is well protected leads to stemming as you veer left and away from the ease of Procrastination. Mantle up onto a very easy and gentle slab to a 2BA. P1: V0 to 5.4 Start with a technical overhanging pull that pros well with some small gear. Likely, there are several variations of the start, but once you gain the OW crack the route is pretty straight forward. The start is the same as for the first two pitches of Procrastination. 2/27/2023 0 Comments Vanilla gift.comIt is an effective, useful card for minor purchases and must be used wisely, without exceeding the prepaid limit. Like all hybrid approaches this one is a compromise, neither completely fish nor fowl, but it absolutely addresses the needs of those who really want both. It's clear, however, that the UX10 plus keyboard (shown to the left) will have considerably more functionality than just a tablet with a USB or Bluetooth keyboard. In its press UX10 press release, Getac didn't go into specifics about the keyboard that makes the UX10 into a full-function 2-in-1 hybrid if so desired. Just as importantly, the UX10 also adds a 10-inch class rugged tablet to Getac's offerings, a very good move considering the ongoing popularity of the 10-inch form factor and the 10-inch tablet offerings by pretty much all of the competition. And it also has another true hybrid, which is important as detachable hybrids are a growing market segment. The company now has a direct competitor to Panasonic's Toughbook 20. As such, the UX10 will serve two important roles in Getac's lineup: Panasonic called theirs a detachable laptop whereas Getac bills the UX10 as a rugged tablet with enhanced versatility.Įither way, this type of design allows use as a "real" tablet as well as a "real" laptop. All are hybrid solutions consisting of a self-contained tablet and an optional detachable keyboard that contains considerable additional functionality and connectivity. The UX10, of course, is Getac's answer to the Panasonic Toughbook 20, just like Getac's larger K120 was launched to compete with Panasonic's Toughbook 33. The UX10 further shines with an all quad-core 8th generation Intel Core processor lineup of available CPUs. Implemented as a "detachable laptop," the UX10 can be used either as a tablet or in conjunction with an optional value-added keyboard dock that allows use as a full-function laptop.
